During a week-end workshop we will explore the preliminaries of practice through sequencing (vinyasa), the gradual approach (vinyasa-krama) and the application of means or techniques, (viniyoga).

Requirements: Students who have a reasonably solid foundation in Iyengar Yoga – no beginners in Iyengar Yoga. Also, please no remedial cases nor pregnant women. Each student needs 2 belts, 2 bricks, blankets for sarvangasana (Yoga Moves has some props) & chair.

Christian Pisano has been practicing Iyengar Yoga for many years. More than 20 years ago he lived in Pune for several years in order to be close to and learn directly from his guru, B.K.S. Iyengar. His philosophical inclinations are those of the non-dual approaches, especially that of the “Trika” system known as Kashmir Shaivism. He holds an Advanced Teacher’s Certificate. He continues to study with the Iyengars annually in Pune and with his wife, is the joint Director of the Iyengar Yoga Institute of Nice, France.

Learn effective restorative poses that work directly on our organic and energetic layers.
The foundations of pranayama such as Ujjayi, Viloma and Kumbahka.
The philosophical background of how yoga practice helps brings quietude to the mind.

In this special 3 hour workshop we will initiate ourselves into the space of one’s own body. We will explore the gross and subtle movements of breath in different yoga poses so we can learn to bath and float in the river of breath. We will learn Pranic techniques to deepen and widen this river so it can wash, cleanse and nourish the organic body and open a window of quietude to the mind.

I am delighted to tell you that Guruji’s BKS Iyengar’s granddaughter, Abhijata Sridhar, shall lead the 2012 Belgian Iyengar Yoga National convention.

She will teach 3 short workshops between the dates: 15/05/2012 – 17/05/2012

The first 2 days (Tuesday & Wednesday), the workshop will be held in the evening, the last day (Thursday) in the morning.
