Four Keys to Happiness – Mindfulness Workshops with Marlene Smits

In this special series of workshops we will learn to go deep within ourselves, look at thoughts and behavioral patterns that limit our understanding of ourselves and find ways to liberate and become more free and in touch with our life purpose.

During four separate sessions on Sunday evenings (17:00-19:00) we will:

  • Explore ways to deal with the mind and recognize what comes from deep within us and what is just noise.
  • Explore what we think, say and do and how it effects the world and ourselves.
  • Learn about setting our intentions for change, and why it is so much more powerful when we do this in meditation.
  • Work on connecting to our hearts desires, and work on finding our life purpose (dharma).

About Marlene Smits

Marlene Smits at Live Yoga AmsterdamMarlene Smits is a non dogmatic yoga- & meditation teacher and health coach. For the last 20 years she has been cultivating meditation and yoga practices and spiritual development.

She combines many different teachings (Buddhist, Vedic, Shamanic, Tantric amongst others) from all over the world into her practise, creating a bridge between modern urban reality and ancient wisdom. Her great passion is sharing love & light with people, helping them to discover their spirituality as well as promoting and nourishing positive and healthy thoughts and habits, empowering people to take charge of their own happiness.

1. Mind Matters (Meditation)

In our modern world most of us experience very busy minds that keep buzzing even when we go to sleep at night. When we face certain issues we meet repetitive negative thoughts that influence our lives and sense of wellbeing. Through different meditation techniques we will explore our mind and apply strategies to understand, clear and balance patterns that no longer serve us. When we do this we allow ourselves to take charge and allow ourselves to be true to whom we really are.

In this workshop we’ll learn a wide range of exercises including sounds, movement meditations, breath work and visualisation techniques to bring about a shift in our awareness and raise our vibration.

2. Awareness in action (Karma)

Our thoughts, words and actions have an impact on the entire universe. Most of us are not aware of the impact that we have on our own reality but when we do become aware we become masters of the reality we live in. We learn to take responsibility for all that we radiate, and become co-creators of the universe. When you practice awareness, you are able to choose your thoughts, words and actions, the way you choose what to wear in the morning.

In this workshop we’ll learn a wide range of exercises including sounds, movement meditations, breath work and visualisation techniques to bring about a shift in our awareness and take responsibility for what we radiate out into the world.

3. Intention (Sankalpa)

There is a true art to manifesting our wishes, and in this session we’ll learn how we can set intentions, use affirmations and manifest our hearts desires. This is not simply asking the universe for what you want, but cultivating the wisdom for how and what to ask for.

When we connect to our heart and tap into its wisdom we can manifest with ease and grace. We’ll find that the universe has many miracles in store for us.

4. Life Purpose (Dharma)

We are all unique, each one of us has talents and capabilities that are unique. However not everyone has discovered what their specific talents are, and that’s why we often feel disconnected and disempowered.

But when you discover who you really are and what your purpose in this life is, you will find the universe working with you and you’ll be able to work with love, ease and grace. True happiness can be found in knowing you are on the path that you were destined to be on.

In this workshop we’ll learn a wide range of exercises including sounds, movement meditations, breath work and visualisation techniques to connect to our heart and and tune in to finding our life’s purpose.
