THE HEALTH BENEFITS OF PILATES
Pilates is a conditioning system for the whole body and it’s systems. It helps improving your lung capacity by teaching proper breathing which improves your circulatory system.
Pilates builds strength, endurance, and flexibility in the muscular system, which helps to restore balance to the skeletal system. Pilates can improve mental awareness of how you move your body and its orientation in space. Most importantly, practiced correctly Pilates will affect your daily life. In essence, Pilates is a lifestyle centred on the desire and need to live a healthy life.
DEVELOPED BY JOSEPH PILATES
Developed during World War I by the legendary physical trainer, Joseph Pilates, the system uses a combination of simple but well-designed repetitive exercises.
The Pilates Method begins by strengthening the abdomen, lower back and hips, and focuses on making the torso the power center of the body. This allows the rest of the body to move more freely. It directs your mind to your body, which makes the exercises more interesting and efficient.
