Practical Ayurveda for Balanced Living – A Course with Liese van Dam

Ayurveda – ‘the knowledge of life’ is a deep and ancient life wisdom that originated in India thousands of years ago and still practiced today. In this unique 10 hours course, spreading over 4 separate meetings, you will receive a combination of theory and practice that is both fascinating and valuable.

  • We will explore the five elements, the three dosha’s (constitutions) and the concept of agni – the digestive fire.
  • Through various practices you will find out your own predominant dosha and how to best take care of it through food choices that are good for you!,
  • Learn using specific kitchen herbs as well as yoga and pranayama (breathing) to balance your constitution.

About the teacher Liese van Dam

Liese van Dam

Liese van Dam is an Ayurvedic practitioner and a Yoga teacher.

Originally trained as a Sivananda teacher she taught extensively throughout the International Sivananda Organization. Over the years she continued her journey learning more about yoga for women with Françoise Freedman of Birthlight. Since she always longed to complement her experience of yoga with knowledge and practice of Ayurveda she trained as an Ayurvedic Practitioner at the Academy of Ayurvedic Studies in Amsterdam where she later started teaching. In her workshops she combine classic ayurvedic principles with yoga practice and shows how to implement these in a modern western lifestyle, making healthy living a fun practice for body, mind and heart.
